The setting is a lighthouse on a barren rock with cramped quarters for a new keeper, his younger society wife expecting trees and a beach, and his assistant from a wealthy family. The atmosphere is the eerie sounds of wind and crashing waves against thin walls, fog drifting in from every crack and the heart-stopping creaking sounds of the equipment needed to keep the light running and the equipment operating. And there are spirits – of every kind – while the seagulls screech. This story includes black crows, a floating scarf, murder, a haunting organ, flirtations and ghosts...or are they?
The Ghost Island Light is another must see play written by Canadian playwright Peter Colley and will be added to his repertoire of award-winning plays that have been performed around the world. This is the fourth performed at Brighton Barn Theatre.
