This classic play concerns two mismatched roommates: Felix Ungar, a neatnik, uptight, neurotic newswriter, is thrown out by his wife and moves  in with his divorced friend, Oscar Madison, an easygoing, messy, sportswriter.  Their polar-opposite personalities grate on each others last nerve,  as Felix's fastidious, hypochondriac behavior clashes wildly with Oscar's slovenly habits, creating hilarious results and pushing their friendship to its limits.

Entering the mix are their four longtime poker buddies, and two upstairs neighbors, the cuckoo Pigeon sisters, as a hopefully romantic diversion for Oscar and Felix.

Fast pacing, witty dialogue and unforgettable characters, make The Odd Couple a show not to be missed.

Mikko KivistoMikko Kivisto

Role: Felix Ungar

Just one year after becoming a newlywed on the Andrea del Sarto, Mikko is suddenly facing a divorce! Who would have thought? He has been involved in theatre for many years as an actor (Romeo & Juliet, Doctor Faustus), director (Lion in the Streets, See Bob Run), dramaturge (Brecht on Brecht, Dancing at Lughnasa) and scholar (PhD in Theatre, University of Illinois). At the BBT, besides playing the aptly-named Ham Foote in Luxury Cruise last year, he had also directed 2009’s Christmas in the Country.

Tim Brodie in the role of Oscar MadisonTim Brodie

Role: Oscar Madison

Tim is back in the Barn taking on the part of Oscar. He’s been in a great many of the Barn’s productions over the past six years; including supporting roles in comedies such as Barefoot in the Park and the Barn’s first thriller, I’ll Be Back Before Midnight. He’s also had a few leading roles including the part of Jack in Opening Night. He’s thrilled to be back at the Barn once again.

Doug PhelanDoug Phelan

Role: Speed

Doug has been performing in front of audiences for over 30 years. He began by doing clown performances and was well known as Fuzzy the Clown. Doug started performing in the "Ghost Walks" about 10 years ago and as the Brighton Barn Theatre evolved, he started "on stage" acting. He has played many different types of charactors but prefers comedy roles when possible. In the summer of 2010, he tried his hand at being a new director when he brought Airfield to the stage. Doug is looking forward to being a part of this age-old classic play; presented for the first time in Brighton.

Doug LittlefordDoug Littleford

Role: Murray

Doug is thrilled to be back with the Brighton Barn Theatre. Over the years he has lent his voice in musical theatre from Victoria Hall, Cobourg , to Brighton. He has played many memorable characters in shows such as South Pacific, Camelot, Fiddler on the Roof, and West Side Story, to name just a few; but his fondest memories are being part of the cast of both of Brighton's Northumberland Calling Normandy productions. Doug also travelled around Ontario for ten years with "The Haircuts", a 50's-60's rock 'n roll show. He is now looking forward to lending his "voice of authority" as Murray the policeman in the Barn's presentation of The Odd Couple.

Craig KerrCraig Kerr

Role: Roy

Craig is a native Brightonian who returned to town some years ago and became deeply involved in many aspects of our community from service clubs to fraternal organizations, curling and golf, environmental efforts and organizations, and municipal affairs. He is currently serving his second term as a Municipal Councillor.

Craig’s theatrical career began with the role of Stephen in Murder is a Game and now he moves on to the role of Roy in The Odd Couple. He is drawn to this role by his real life experience with a similar group of poker playing buddies in Brighton who shall remain nameless. Nevertheless, the dialogue of those games will make performing this role a labour of love and delivering the lines will be made easier by the familiarity with that group. Sometimes life imitates art, or is it the other way around?

John RalfeJohn Ralfe

Role: Vinnie

John Ralfe is a retired teacher from the Kawartha Pineridge SB who lives in PEC. This is his second role at the Barn as a last minute call-up. He is enjoying the fun working with these talented people once again.

Linda SacchettLinda Sacchet

Role: Gwendolyn Pigeon

Linda has dabbled in both dinner theatre and on stage productions throughout the years. This is Linda’s 5th production with the Brighton Barn, having acted in three previous shows and directed one.

Having just recently won the coveted “Barney” Award for Pastiche, (and always a sucker for punishment), she couldn’t wait to dive into Producing as well as acting in this next production.

Linda looks forward to working with old friends and new faces, and knows that all this great talent will certainly make this play one of the best.

Joanne HoekstraJoanne Hoekstra

Role: Cecily Pigeon

Joanne has been involved at the Brighton Barn Theatre for several years. She enjoys performing in full scale productions (the most recent being Over the River & Through the Woods) as well as one act plays such as Airfield (summer 2010). She was also a member of the "all women" cast of Steel Magnolias performed in Warkworth. Joanne helped with other shows over the years by working backstage when needed. She looks forward to creating a new "persona" with the role of "Cecily" in this production.
