Professor Peter Smedforson lives in a quiet college town, in the former home of E. R. Lennox, a poet whose writings are the subject of his scholarly life's work.
Reclusive Peter finds his sedate life suddenly turned upside down when he is invaded by Tammi, a free spirit whose luck has run out; by Judith, another Lennox scholar determined to unearth a lost manuscript in his home; and by Stuart, Judith's ex-husband who also wants to find the manuscript.
Peter is confronted with house breakers, mistaken identities and hide-and-seek chases as the characters bring everything to a hilarious denouement in this quick-witted comedy.

News
Brighton Barn Theatre lost its long time President on May 2nd after a lengthy illness. Art Middleton, or J Arthur as he always liked to be listed in our programs, had been President for as long as most of us can remember.
For almost 20 years, in addition to his presidential duties, Art also produced plays, was our Technical Director, set designer, lighting designer and operator. We have always been blessed that Art and his construction team had our sets "ready to go" so that our casts could rehearse on them as quickly as possible.
Art was truly committed to our Brighton Barn Theatre, having moved from Cobourg to Brighton, just five minutes away from the theatre, when he became President.
Despite his illness, Art last designed the set and lighting for Norm Foster's "Jenny's House of Joy" which ran April - May this 2025 season and was a tremendous success.
His talents and dedication will surely be missed.
