The Long Weekend, by Norm Foster, is a very funny play.  Max and Wynn invite Roger and Abby to their new country home for a long weekend. Two couples who  have been "friends" for many years  and who can hardly stand to be in the same room together.  Funny?  One reason is you are never sure how these characters will react to one another.  The twists from Act One to Act Two make you wonder how everything is going to turn out in the end. What ensues is a hilarious series where secrets are revealed and bad decisions are made, until everyone learns that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

News

Brighton Barn Theatre lost its long time President on May 2nd after a lengthy illness.  Art Middleton, or J Arthur as he always liked to be listed in our programs, had been President for as long as most of us can remember.

For almost 20 years, in addition to his presidential duties, Art also produced plays, was our Technical Director, set designer,  lighting designer and operator.  We have always been blessed that Art and his construction team had our sets "ready to go" so that our casts could rehearse on them as quickly as possible.

Art was truly committed to our Brighton Barn Theatre, having moved from Cobourg to Brighton, just five minutes away from the theatre, when he became President.

Despite his illness, Art last designed the set and lighting for Norm Foster's "Jenny's House of Joy" which ran April - May this 2025 season and was a tremendous success.

His talents and dedication will surely be missed.
