In this wickedly amusing play, the wild and daring Harriet solves her financial problems by simultaneously dating two gentlemen callers.

The hilarity of the play ensues as the "foolproof" plan verges on collapse following the unannounced arrival of Harriet’s best friend Anne who turns up at the flat after a marital tiff with her husband, and is further threatened by the unexpected arrival of Anne’s drunken husband Richard and Harriet’s lovers.

The comedy builds to a rich complexity of mistaken identity, splendidly farcical situations and a climax of comic wizardry. Prepare for an evening of undemanding fun!

Brighton Barn Theatre lost its long time President on May 2nd after a lengthy illness.  Art Middleton, or J Arthur as he always liked to be listed in our programs, had been President for as long as most of us can remember.

For almost 20 years, in addition to his presidential duties, Art also produced plays, was our Technical Director, set designer,  lighting designer and operator.  We have always been blessed that Art and his construction team had our sets "ready to go" so that our casts could rehearse on them as quickly as possible.

Art was truly committed to our Brighton Barn Theatre, having moved from Cobourg to Brighton, just five minutes away from the theatre, when he became President.

Despite his illness, Art last designed the set and lighting for Norm Foster's "Jenny's House of Joy" which ran April - May this 2025 season and was a tremendous success.

His talents and dedication will surely be missed.
